South Kentucky Lake: Headwater Elevation – 359.35 Surface Temperature – 84
South Lake Barkley:  Headwater Elevation – 359.20 Surface Temperatures – 84

Both lakes are presently at or near summer pool level which is 359.00. The largemouth on Kentucky Lake and Barkley lakes have moved to the main lake humps, ledges and creek channels. These fish will hit 10” Zoom Old Monster worms, 3/4oz football head jigs and 1oz to 3/4oz spinnerbaits fished slowly over the above mentioned structure. The crappies are in the old creek channel of the bays over brush piles in 10-20 foot of water. The Bluegill is in 5-8 foot of water holding around shallow cover and willow trees feeding on the ongoing Mayfly hatch. These fish are hitting crickets and worms under bobber with limits coming daily. The White Bass are starting to school up on the main lake creek channel ledge and are hitting small spoons and inline spinners. Water conditions are stained to clear on both lakes. You can monitor water levels for both lakes at www.lakeinfo.tva.gov.
